So I sit and watch the news and I see all of these people who have lost their homes, families, friends, neighbors and pets. I see families with nothing. They sit on bridges in large groups with no water or food. Some are injured and sick. Some running out of their medication. Babies who have nowhere to sleep except their carseats or mom's lap's children with nothing to play with and I wonder...what can I possibly do. It seems so impossible. I sit and cry. I can't watch the news. It reminds me of how I felt on 9/11. But on that day there was someone to blame. I could hate the terrorists for doing this to us. Now I have no one to blame and I feel helpless.

There is exciting news in our household! Scott is going to days! He is going to be working the weekend shift. Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:48 a.m. to 6:48 p.m.. The weekends are kind of shot but now Scott will be on a normal schedule and our family will be whole. Maybe now we can be successful at expanding our family :)

Also, following Kishelle's blog. Please pray for all of those down South, our government in this time of emergency and our economy.

So I work in retail and I love it but...what is up with all the people out shopping lately! I know it is back to school time and I know all the kid's are heading back to College but holy cow!! It feels like Christmas! Not only are they out spending all this money like Christmas...but they are crabby like Christmas too! There was a lady today who thought it was my job to find her a specific bath rug. Not just any bath rug but one on clearance that there were only 5 of in the entire corporation! That is like 176 stores! You should have seen her when I told her that I couldn't locate any of the 5 and that because it was on clearance it was nearly impossible. If looks could kill..I would be dead! So next time your out and about in you friendly Kohls store, remember, we are people too. ;) Have a nice day and thank you for shopping at Kohls!

So we're checking out at Meijer yesterday and the cashier says, "I like how you talk to your kids." I was like excuse me! She says, "No, you talk to them like they are human, I see alot of kid's and their parents here who talk horribly to each other." I was taken aback! It feels good to have someone point something nice out about you. I always wonder if I am doing a good job. It felt good!

So today was pretty much the kids day from hell (excuse my French!). This morning the kid's had dentist appointments. Haley to have her molars sealed (she inherited deep pits in her teeth from moi!) and Ricky to have a cavity (gulp) fixed. This was at 9:20 a.m. Then they both had Well Child check ups at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. Allen, where Haley had to get 2 shots and she gets to go back in 2 weeks to have her tonsels checked. Dr. Allen wants me to listen to her sleep and see if she has sleep apnea. He says her tonsels are enlarged (which didn't come as a surprise, doctor's have always told me she had big tonsels) and she may need to have them out so she can sleep more soundly! All this in preparation for their new school year. Oh yeah and we went and registered them at their new school. The school is still under construction so we couldn't see all of it but we got to see the kid's classroom and find out who their teachers would be. It was a rough day but it is very exciting to know that the start of school is right around the corner. I am so glad that my kid's are getting such a wonderful, new start at life. They deserve it...I deserve it.

So a couple of years ago I went to my first garage sale...and I loved it. Today I went to my first resale shop...and I loved it! The kid's need new clothes every week it seems and buying second hand is going to save us a bundle! The shop we went to has very gently used clothes with name brands like Gap, Old Navy, The Children's Place etc. We got tons of stuff for the kid's for around $50!! Haley thinks it's the coolest thing, she got a bag full of clothes and she didn't have to beg for them!!

Here it is the middle of summer and my entire family has a cold! I had to break out the vick's vapor rub and the cough medicine. How does one get a cold in the middle of summer? I'm perplexed, lol! Any good home remedies anyone?

So I finally loosened up a bit a let people come and see my house and....it felt good. It is so nice having my own space to do as I wish. Not to mention being far enough away from all the drama. Thanks Jen and Kishelle
