So today while Scott is at work and the kid's are at school I clean. I mean deep clean. Cleaned out the cupboards and fridge, got on my hands and knees and scrubbed parts of the toilet I didn't know it had, steam cleaned the carpets, washed the lap blanket, and anything else that would fit in the washer. Why you may be asking...well my mother-in-law is coming to watch the kid's tomorrow morning while Scott and I are at work. As I explained to my friend Susie on her blog my m.i.l is alot like Marie and Everybody loves Raymond. She cooks and cleans way better than I do or as Scott says "she does it different, you do just fine but my mom does it different". I love my husband very much but it is hard being married to a momma's boy, don't tell him I said that because he will deny it till his death, but it's true. When we watch episodes of Everybody loves Raymond and I am rolling on the floor laughing my ass of, he just sits there. He says he doesn't understand the humor in it. Need I say any more.

So I have this raging cold with the runny nose, cough and that annoying nasally voice thing. Anyway at work yesterday the girl who came in to relieve me says, "wow, you sound really sick!". Then she proceeds to wipe the phones with alcohol towellettes. I wasn't sure if I should be understanding (she doesn't want to get sick) or be pissed (it's not like I was licking the phones all day). Then when I get home I go to kiss my hubby and he gives me a little hug and says, with a grimace on his face, "wow, you sound really sick!" I say, "yeah, I've heard." Being sick sucks! The only nice thing about yesterday was when I was tucking Ricky into bed he said "I've got a cold too mommy so you can kiss me!" Excuse me while I melt!

One of my blogging buddies had this quote posted on her blog. I giggled and giggled. Think of how many "slinkies" you know.

"Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs."

I enjoy visiting her blog, you should visit. http://mygobhole.blogspot.com/

The reason I get up every day.

(Sorry about the size of the pictures. They are off of my brother's girlfriend's phone.)

This is Molly. She is the reason we had to invest in a steam cleaner!

Here is Cleo one of our cat's. She is the one we got from a rescue organization. We've discovered why she was at a rescue...she is beautiful and very lovable...but she poops right next to the litter box.

Holy cow! The kid's are back to school and somehow I feel like I'm back in school. In passing I mentioned to Ricky's teacher, Mrs. Smith, that I had Friday's off and would love to volunteer in the classroom. I meant it 100%, honest. So Ricky comes home with a paper from school that has a schedule for classroom volunteers and there I am, typed into every Friday!!! Then Haley says, "when are you going to volunteer for my classroom?!". So here I am, dumbfounded, unable to answer my 7 year old and wondering, how am I going to get out of this without looking like a big ass. So I'm thinking, I'll just explain to dear, sweet, young Mrs. Smith that I have 2 kid's of my own and I need to spread myself out a little. Then I'm thinking, one Friday Haley's class next Friday Ricky class and so on. Then I'm thinking, I was kinda thinking that I would enjoy having Friday's while the kid's are at school to catch up on my housework....anyone know where I can find a few more Friday's in a month?? Then there's the homework, Ricky's is fun to do, we can use crayons and scissors and glue. Haley's homework (she's only in 2nd grade) makes me feel dumb! She's always looking at me like, "duh mom, didn't you learn all this in school!!" and I'm thinking "I don't think I learned all this till middle school!". I don't know about anyone else, but there is NO WAY I am going to be of any help to her once she hit's say......3rd grade!!!

As you can tell it's been awhile...Haley and Ricky started school this week and it's going great. Haley's teacher is wonderful and creative but firm, which is just what Haley needs. Ricky's teacher is sugar sweet and young which is just what Ricky likes :) Scott is on his last week of 3rd shift and anxious to start his new job. I am working non stop. Oh yeah, And my EX best friend shows up at MY family function and helps herself to brunch like the bitch was invited! Just a bit of background, she was my best friend, I was 100% invested while she was...Well...A backstabbing bitch. Come to find out she was 100% invested in trying to get with my kid's dad!! So I've been busy, LOL! But I'm back now, with a fresh new outlook on everything (thank you Kish!) and ready to go.

Well Haley is getting her tonsels out! We went back for a check-up and Dr. Allen thinks they should come out. It kinda tricky though with her starting a new school and all. She gets a break early November so we're scheduling it then. Anyone had their tonsels out? I'm hoping it is quick and virtually painless.
